Lahore’s Orange Line Metro Train Gets Major Upgrade

The Punjab government has announced a comprehensive restoration plan for Lahore’s Orange Line Metro Train, addressing long-overdue maintenance and infrastructure issues to improve commuter safety and comfort.

According to official sources, over Rs. 500 million will be released for repair and rehabilitation work that had been pending for two years. The Punjab Chief Minister has instructed the Mass Transit Authority and the Finance Department to expedite the process and resolve technical faults immediately.

A recent report revealed 742 leakage points, 834 drainage issues, and 24 areas of water accumulation along the metro tracks and stations. The Chief Minister emphasized,

“Passenger safety and service quality are top priorities this upgrade will ensure reliable and modern urban mobility.”

The maintenance drive aims to restore the Orange Line’s full operational efficiency and enhance the travel experience for thousands of daily commuters.
