The Lahore Electric Supply Company has launched a comprehensive monitoring campaign targeting the use of its official vehicles, aiming to promote energy efficiency and ensure responsible utilization of government resources.
As part of the initiative, officials from the Intelligence Bureau conducted visits to LESCO offices to document parked vehicles and assess their operational usage. The move is part of a broader effort to enhance oversight and curb unnecessary fuel consumption.
In the initial phase, fuel supply for desk officers’ vehicles was temporarily restricted. Under the updated policy, officials are now allowed to operate and park vehicles within designated office premises. However, authorities have issued a strict warning that any unauthorized use of official vehicles on public roads will lead to disciplinary action.
To support field operations, LESCO has adjusted fuel allocations, ensuring that essential staff can continue their duties while maintaining a focus on conservation. The measures align with government directives aimed at reducing energy consumption and improving efficiency across public sector institutions.
The campaign is expected to strengthen accountability, minimize misuse of official assets, and contribute to broader energy-saving goals within the organization.
