Login Issues? Microsoft Services Are Down Across the Globe

Microsoft announced on Saturday night that service has been restored after an outage that prevented tens of thousands of users from accessing their Outlook email accounts and other programs.

“We’re investigating an issue in which users may be unable to access Outlook features and services,” Microsoft 365 Status, the official Microsoft account for 365 service incidents, wrote on X.

Reports of disruptions began surfacing around 8:40 PM GMT, according to Downdetector. By 9:15 PM on March 1, Microsoft had received over 9,000 outage reports related to Outlook, with users in London and Manchester being among the most affected. Nearly 50% of these reports pointed to login issues.

By 3:30 PM ET, the outage had significantly impacted Microsoft’s core services. Downdetector recorded:

  • 37,000+ reports of Outlook disruptions
  • 24,000+ reports of Microsoft 365 outages
  • 150 reports of Microsoft Teams being inaccessible

According to data from Downdetector, the areas of New York, Chicago, and Los Angeles experienced the greatest number of outages.

Users also filled social media site X with complaints about not being able to access their Outlook emails, leading to worries of a Microsoft outage worldwide.

“Everything is up and running,” Microsoft stated on its service health update page.

“It confirmed that service was restored,” the corporation stated in a Microsoft 365 Status report published on X.

The company has yet to provide a response to requests for comment.
