LPG prices have surged sharply in Lahore, with consumers reportedly paying as much as Rs. 520 per kilogram amid ongoing gas load shedding.
The government has fixed the official price of LPG at Rs. 254 per kilogram. However, sellers in different parts of Lahore are reportedly charging between Rs. 380 and Rs. 520 per kilogram, placing additional financial pressure on households.
Citizens said frequent gas outages have forced them to purchase LPG to meet their household cooking needs. Despite paying their monthly gas bills, many consumers claim they are receiving little or no gas supply.
The shortage has increased dependence on LPG, while the sharp difference between the official and market prices has made the fuel increasingly expensive for ordinary households.
Consumers also complained that LPG sellers are charging different prices across the city, with some reportedly selling the fuel at more than double the government-fixed rate.
Citizens have urged the authorities to take immediate action to ensure the implementation of the official LPG price.
They have also called for strict action against sellers involved in overcharging and demanded stronger monitoring of LPG markets across Lahore.
According to consumers, effective enforcement of the official rate could provide relief to households already struggling with rising fuel expenses.
The continued increase in LPG prices in Lahore is adding to household budget pressures, particularly for families that have been forced to rely on LPG because of gas supply disruptions.
