The M-1 Motorway has been reopened to all types of traffic between Islamabad and Peshawar, a spokesperson said on Monday.
Restoration work continues on the link road connecting the M-1 to the Hazara Motorway. Motorists travelling to Abbottabad via the M-1 can join the Hazara Motorway at the Jhari Kas Interchange.
Work is also ongoing on the M-4 Motorway between Hakla and Kundal. Meanwhile, the GT Road (N-5) remains open to all types of traffic from Islamabad to Peshawar.
Last week, the government had ordered an indefinite closure of the Islamabad-Peshawar Motorway (M-1), the Islamabad-Dera Ismail Khan Motorway (M-14), also known as the CPEC route, and the GT Road (N-5), effective from Wednesday evening.
According to a statement by the National Highways and Motorway Police (NHMP), the M-1 was shut to all traffic in both directions between the Islamabad Toll Plaza and the Chhachh Interchange.
The M-14 was closed in both directions between Hakla and Kundal, while the GT Road was closed to all traffic in both directions at Attock Khurd.
