The Balochistan government has officially announced that matriculation examinations 2026 will begin from February 10 across the province, with authorities vowing strict action to ensure fair, transparent, and merit-based exams. The announcement signals a tougher stance against cheating and paper leaks that have troubled the education system in past years.
Sharing the update on social media platform X, Chief Minister Sarfaraz Bugti said the provincial government would adopt a zero-tolerance approach toward cheating and malpractice. He warned that any attempt to undermine the examination process would be dealt with firmly.
“We are determined to restore credibility and transparency in the education system. Students must depend on hard work, not unfair means,” Bugti stated.
According to the chief minister, police officials, deputy commissioners, and the provincial education department will jointly oversee the examination process. Special monitoring teams will be deployed at examination centres to prevent paper leaks, organised cheating, and misconduct.
Authorities have been instructed to complete all security and administrative arrangements well before the exams to ensure a smooth process.
Balochistan’s examination system has faced repeated criticism over paper leaks and weak oversight in previous years. The latest announcement comes as part of broader governance and education reforms, aimed at strengthening institutions, improving learning outcomes, and rebuilding public trust in the examination system.
Officials say strict enforcement and coordinated monitoring will play a key role in ensuring that the 2026 matric exams are conducted fairly across the province.
