Metro Bus, Orange Line Train Suspended Amid Security Concerns

In a major precautionary move, the district administrations of Islamabad, Rawalpindi, and Lahore have temporarily suspended Metro Bus and Orange Line Train services amid fears of possible protests and unrest. The decision aims to ensure commuter safety and maintain law and order in the affected cities.

Officials from the Metro Bus Authority confirmed that operations from Sadar Station to Pak Secretariat have been halted until further notice. The suspension follows intelligence alerts warning that demonstrations could disrupt transport and pose security risks.

An official noted,

“The suspension is purely a safety measure. Services will resume as soon as the situation returns to normal.”

Similarly, the Orange Line Metro Train in Lahore was also stopped for the day as part of province-wide security precautions. Several stations were closed, with heavy police deployment across key areas to manage the situation and protect passengers.

Commuters have been advised to use alternative transport options until services are restored.
