MG Motors Pakistan appears to have discontinued the current-generation HS Essence, signaling a potential shift in its SUV lineup in Pakistan.
The 1.5L turbocharged HS Essence, introduced in 2020, has been one of the brand’s most recognized models in the local market. However, recent developments suggest the variant is being phased out.
The HS Essence has been removed from the company’s official website, while its social media channels show no recent promotional activity related to the model both indicating a possible discontinuation.
Dealerships have also confirmed that local assembly has been halted, further strengthening the view that production has come to an end. At present, customer orders appear to be limited to the plug-in hybrid (PHEV) variant of the SUV.
Although no official announcement has been made, industry observers believe the move could be part of preparations for a new-generation version of the MG HS in Pakistan.
The development reflects a broader industry trend, where automakers are increasingly shifting toward hybrid and electrified vehicles to meet evolving consumer demand.
