MG Reveals U9 Booking Amount in Pakistan and Confirms Launch Date

MG introduced the U9 pickup truck to Pakistani buyers at the Pakistan Auto Show in Karachi on Friday, bringing the company into the country’s diesel pickup segment for the first time. The reveal set the stage for the next announcement, as MG confirmed a day later that bookings are now open, although the company has not shared delivery timelines.

The U9 is MG’s debut pickup for Pakistan and arrives with a 2.5-liter turbocharged diesel engine. This engine was previously available in Australia, making Pakistan only the second market to receive it. With this entry, MG targets long-standing rivals, including the Isuzu D-Max and the Toyota Revo.

The truck uses a 4×4 drivetrain supported by front and rear differential locks. It offers a towing capacity of 3,500 kg and a ground clearance of 220 mm. Its ZF 8-speed automatic transmission produces 215 hp and 520 Nm of torque, which gives the U9 enough strength for city driving and off-road travel.

MG has also focused heavily on cabin comfort. The driver’s seat includes 8-way electric adjustment, 4-way lumbar support, and heating, ventilation, and massage functions. Meanwhile, the passenger seat offers 6-way electric adjustment along with heating.

The interior features a 12.3-inch touchscreen that supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The company has added a JBL 8-speaker audio system, rear AC vents, an electric tailgate, wireless charging, rain-sensing wipers, and a panoramic sunroof.

MG has set the booking price at Rs. 8,000,000. The company also confirmed that the official launch of the U9 will take place in January next year.
