Gul Ahmed Textile Mills Limited has appointed Mohammed Zaki Bashir as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective April 1, 2026, according to a notification submitted to the Pakistan Stock Exchange.
Bashir, a seasoned executive, joined Gul Ahmed in 2005 and has been serving as a board member since 2008. He holds a degree in International Business from Regents Business School, UK, and is also a certified director from the Pakistan Institute of Corporate Governance.
He has played an active role in the textile sector, serving on the Executive Committee of the All Pakistan Textile Mills Association and contributing to the Pakistan Textile Council. Bashir has also been associated with the Young Presidents Organization Pakistan and the Entrepreneurs Organization since 2014.
Gul Ahmed has a longstanding history, beginning as a textile trading business in the early 1900s before launching manufacturing operations in 1953 and becoming a public limited company in 1955. Today, it operates as a composite textile mill and runs a nationwide retail network of more than 40 stores offering apparel, home textiles, and accessories.
Company officials stated that Bashir’s appointment reflects a strategic focus on leadership continuity and future growth, particularly in expanding manufacturing capabilities and strengthening retail operations.
