Motorola Edge 70 Fusion Brings Slim, Stylish Design with Large Battery

Published by

Motorola is back with the Edge 70 Fusion, a phone that balances sleek design with serious battery life. Unlike the original Edge 70, which prioritized thinness over power with its 6,000mAh battery, the new Fusion keeps the energy strong while slimming down. It manages to pack a 5,200mAh battery, the same as the Edge 60 Fusion, but reduces the thickness from 8.0mm to 7.2mm. The weight remains manageable at 177g.

Motorola has upgraded the hardware significantly. The Edge 70 Fusion runs on the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3, built on TSMC’s N4 process. Its Cortex-A720 and A520 CPU cores offer 15% more speed than the previous generation, paired with an Adreno 810 GPU for smoother graphics. This is a notable shift from the Dimensity 7300 found in the earlier model.

The display also gets a boost. The phone features a 6.78-inch quad-curved OLED panel with 1272p+ resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate. Its brightness peaks at 5,200 nits, even higher than the Edge 70’s 4,500 nits, making it excellent for outdoor use. Gorilla Glass 7i protects the front, while the phone’s body carries IP68 and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance. Motorola even subjected the device to MIL-STD-810H testing to ensure durability.

Photography remains a highlight. The rear houses a Pantone-validated dual-camera setup, led by a 50MP Sony Lytia 710 sensor with OIS and 1.0µm pixels. It pairs with a 13MP ultra-wide camera offering a 120-degree field of view and macro shooting. On the front, a 32MP sensor handles selfies.

Charging is fast, with 68W wired support, though wireless charging is not included. The phone comes in multiple colors with fabric-inspired back finishes, adding style to its sturdy frame.

Interestingly, some major markets will get a slightly different version of the Edge 70 Fusion. That model is thicker at 7.99mm but features a larger 7,000mAh battery. Meanwhile, Europe will receive the slimmer 7.2mm edition.
