Motorola has officially introduced its latest mid-range smartphones, the Moto G (2026) and Moto G Play (2026), for the North American market. Both phones bring upgraded performance, new Pantone finishes, and affordable price tags that strengthen Motorola’s hold in the budget smartphone segment.
The Moto G (2026) is powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 6300 chipset, coupled with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. It features a large 6.7-inch display with a 120Hz refresh rate and reaches up to 1,000 nits of brightness in High Brightness Mode. Gorilla Glass 3 protection adds durability to the screen, while the IP52 rating ensures resistance to dust and light splashes.
Photography is handled by a 50MP main camera supported by a dedicated macro sensor, while selfies are captured by a 32MP front camera. Powering the device is a 5,200mAh battery that supports up to 30W fast charging. The phone runs Android 16 right out of the box and comes in Pantone Slipstream and Pantone Cattleya Orchid, both featuring a leather-like finish.
The Moto G (2026) will go on sale in the US starting December 11 via Motorola’s online store, Verizon, Total Wireless, Straight Talk, Simple Mobile, Tracfone, Walmart Family, and Visible. It will later expand to T-Mobile, Metro by T-Mobile, Boost Mobile, Cricket Wireless, AT&T, Google Fi Wireless, Xfinity Mobile, Consumer Cellular, Optimum Mobile, and UScellular. Amazon and Best Buy will begin offering it on January 15. The handset is priced at $199.99.
In Canada, the Moto G (2026) will launch on December 11 through Motorola’s official channels.
The Moto G Play (2026) shares much of the same DNA but trims a few specs to stay affordable. It comes with a 32MP main camera and an 8MP selfie shooter. Charging speeds drop to 18W, while the overall battery capacity and design remain the same. The device will be available in Pantone Tapestry, also with a textured leather-like finish.
Motorola will start selling the Moto G Play (2026) on November 13 at Motorola.com, Amazon, Best Buy, T-Mobile, Metro by T-Mobile, Total Wireless, Straight Talk, UScellular, and Cox Mobile. It will later arrive at Cricket Wireless, AT&T, Verizon, Verizon Prepaid, Visible, Simple Mobile, Tracfone, Walmart Family, Consumer Cellular, Xfinity Mobile, and Boost Mobile. The phone is priced at $169.99.
In Canada, the Moto G Play (2026) will also be available starting November 13.
