As snowfall continues across Murree, traffic authorities have issued a fresh advisory urging tourists to avoid unnecessary travel and strictly follow safety guidelines to prevent congestion and accidents during harsh weather conditions.
Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Murree, Imran Razaq, has advised tourists to check updated weather and traffic conditions before traveling to the hill station. According to City Traffic Police Murree, snowfall is ongoing in several areas, prompting heightened alert and precautionary measures to ensure public safety.
The traffic police spokesperson said that additional traffic wardens have been deployed at key points across Murree to manage vehicle flow and assist visitors. CTO Imran Razaq is personally supervising traffic operations in the field to ensure smooth movement and timely response to emergencies.
Authorities have advised that only fully equipped four-wheel-drive vehicles should be used during snowfall. Tourists have been urged to keep fuel tanks full, carry warm clothing, maintain proper tyre pressure, and strictly avoid over-speeding. Motorists have also been warned not to park in no-parking zones or create double lanes, as such actions can disrupt traffic and delay emergency services.
Traffic police emphasized that travelers must follow instructions issued by on-duty wardens, as cooperation is critical for safety during severe weather. In case of traffic-related issues, citizens can contact the Murree Traffic Control Room at 051-9269200.
