In a major step towards protecting national assets, the Ministry of Industries and Production today received 310 kanals of state land in Haripur, retrieved through the efforts of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB). The land, valued at billions of rupees, was formally handed over in a ceremony attended by senior officials.

This handover reflects the government’s ongoing commitment to safeguarding public resources and ensuring accountability. Over the past years, NAB has played a crucial role in recovering encroached or misused state property, reinforcing its position as a key anti-corruption institution.

During the ceremony, NAB Deputy Chairman Mr. Sohail Nasir and DG NAB KP Mr. Farmanullah presented the retrieved land to Mr. Haroon Akhtar Khan, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Industries and Production. Secretary Mr. Saif Anjum and other senior officials were also present.

Mr. Haroon Akhtar Khan highlighted that, under the directives of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, the protection of national resources remains a top government priority. He lauded the cooperation between NAB and federal institutions, calling it a “practical manifestation of transparency and accountability.”

This achievement demonstrates strong institutional coordination in reclaiming public resources.

Will this momentum in recovering state assets continue nationwide, and can it truly help build a corruption-free Pakistan as envisioned by the government?
