Nadra Unveils Digital Fingerprinting With Facial Verification Backup

NADRA has expanded its digital Union Council (UC) registration services to Sindh’s Tando Allahyar and Jamshoro, allowing citizens to register births, deaths, marriages, and divorces through the Pak-Identity mobile app without visiting UC offices. The move is part of the government’s broader push to strengthen digital governance and improve public service delivery.

The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) announced that residents of Tando Allahyar and Jamshoro can now access Union Council registration services online via the Pak ID app. This facility, previously available in selected Sindh cities, enables applicants to complete documentation, submit applications digitally, and receive official certificates from home.

An official statement noted that the initiative aims to reduce overcrowding at government offices, save citizens’ time, and ensure transparency in civil registration processes.

“This automated system makes birth and death registration faster, more efficient, and transparent,” NADRA said, highlighting that the project was developed in collaboration with provincial governments.

The digital UC service rollout follows directives from the Federal Minister for Interior and aligns with the government’s wider digital Pakistan agenda. NADRA has been gradually expanding online services to modernize civil registration and eliminate manual inefficiencies. Authorities confirmed that work is ongoing to extend this facility to more districts, with plans to cover the entire province of Sindh in the near future
