The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has introduced a new feature called “Verification History” in the latest version 5.4.2 of the Pak ID app, aimed at providing citizens with greater control and transparency over their digital identity.
According to NADRA officials, the new feature allows users to see where and by which organization their CNIC or other identity documents have been verified. Citizens can now access this information through a dedicated tab in the app menu, covering verifications done via QR codes, fingerprints, facial recognition, and CNIC numbers.
A NADRA spokesperson said:
“Our goal is to enhance the security and transparency of citizens’ identity information. We will continue introducing advanced features in the Pak ID app to serve the public better.”
NADRA has advised citizens to update the app to the latest version or download it if not yet installed, to take advantage of this new feature.
The Pak ID app was launched to digitize and streamline identity services in Pakistan. With the Verification History feature, citizens can track who accessed their information and when, strengthening both trust and security. This move aligns with NADRA’s broader goal of promoting transparency and safeguarding personal data.
