NADRA Just Dropped a New App, Here’s How It Could Save You Hours

In a significant advancement for digital governance, the National Database and Registration Authority (Nadra) has introduced a new app for registering births and deaths, enabling citizens to report important life events without the need to visit government offices.

The announcement about the new Nadra app for birth, death registration was made during the second meeting of the National Registration and Biometric Policy Framework Implementation Committee. The meeting was attended by representatives from various federal ministries, regulatory bodies, and provincial departments.

Nadra Chairman Lt Gen (Retd) Muhammad Munir Afsar introduced the new initiative, explaining that the mobile application enables citizens to register births, deaths, and changes in marital status online from their homes. The service will first be rolled out in Punjab province.

Biometric Facilities to Support New Digital System

Mr. Afsar further shared that biometric verification facilities are also being extended to all union councils across Punjab to support the rollout of the new Nadra app for birth, death registration. He described the initiative as a “revolutionary improvement” in public service delivery that would help ensure a more accurate national database.

During the session, a live demonstration of the app was provided to officials from the Local Government Department, showcasing how citizens can easily submit and verify life event updates.

The new app launch comes nearly two weeks after Nadra streamlined its B-Form application process for parents via the Pak ID App.
