The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has unveiled a new system for issuing B-Forms, improving the way identification documents are provided to children in Pakistan and abroad.
Under the revamped process, each child will receive separate B-Forms at three key stages of their development, each with its own validity period and increasing security features:
- First B-Form (At Birth) – Issued without a photograph, this form is valid until the child turns three.
- Second B-Form (Age 3–10) – Includes a photograph and remains valid until the child reaches ten years of age.
- Third B-Form (Age 10–18) – Features a photograph, iris scan, and fingerprints, and is valid until the child turns eighteen.
Parents are required to register their child’s birth at the local Union Council within one month to obtain the initial B-Form. Renewals should be completed promptly at the end of each validity period. This can be done by visiting the nearest NADRA office or using the Pak-ID mobile application from home.
The new system is designed to maintain updated and secure identification records for children as they grow, enhancing both accuracy and safety in official records.
