The National Database & Registration Authority (NADRA) has announced plans to establish Pakistan’s largest Mega Centre in Gulberg Town, Karachi, under a new partnership with the Town Municipal Corporation (TMC). The upcoming facility aims to provide citizens with round-the-clock access to NADRA and other essential public services.
This initiative follows NADRA’s ongoing efforts to expand digital registration and public facilitation infrastructure across the country. Karachi, being Pakistan’s most populous city, has long faced overcrowded service centers. The new Mega Centre is designed to reduce waiting times and improve accessibility for residents in the city’s Central District.
According to the MoU, the NADRA Regional Head Office Karachi will oversee the setup of the state-of-the-art centre, which will operate 24 hours a day, six days a week. The facility will include a fully air-conditioned environment, a central cooling system, and a spacious waiting area to ensure visitor comfort.
Dedicated counters will cater to passport services, Thalassemia tests, arms licences, and senior citizens, while zonal offices will function within the building to improve service delivery.
A NADRA spokesperson stated:
“The Gulberg Mega Centre will redefine citizen facilitation by offering modern, accessible, and efficient services under one roof. It’s a major step toward digital governance and public convenience.”
Residents of Ayesha Manzil, Sakhi Hasan, North Nazimabad, New Karachi, FB Area, and Liaquatabad are expected to benefit most from the project. The centre’s one-window service model aims to streamline multiple government processes, bringing NADRA’s digital infrastructure closer to communities.
