NADRA Urges Citizens to Collect CNICs Promptly to Avoid Disposal Delays

The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has issued an important advisory urging citizens to collect their Computerized National Identity Cards (CNICs) promptly after issuance, warning that unclaimed cards are disposed of after three months in line with official policy.

The advisory follows growing cases of uncollected CNICs across NADRA offices nationwide, causing administrative delays and additional processing burdens.

According to NADRA, citizens who fail to collect their CNICs within the designated period will be required to reapply and pay the prescribed reissuance fee.

A NADRA spokesperson emphasized,

“Applicants are advised to collect their cards immediately after the processing period to avoid inconvenience or extra charges.”

Additionally, the authority advised families to cancel CNICs of deceased relatives either by visiting the nearest NADRA centre or using the Pak ID mobile app to keep family records up to date.

The directive underscores NADRA’s ongoing efforts to improve efficiency and data accuracy under its nationwide identity management system.
