NayaPay Partners With Alipay+ to Bring Global QR Payments to Pakistan
NayaPay, one of Pakistan’s fastest-growing fintech platforms, has launched global QR payment capabilities for Pakistani users in partnership with Alipay+, significantly expanding international payment options for citizens travelling abroad. The feature allows Pakistanis to scan and pay securely at participating merchants in more than 50 countries, giving them access to a global digital payment ecosystem while reducing costs and friction typically associated with foreign transactions.
Under the collaboration with Alipay+, a global wallet gateway operated by Ant International that connects 40 international mobile payment partners to over 150 million merchants worldwide, NayaPay users can now make contactless payments for retail, dining, transport, healthcare, entertainment and other services simply by scanning a QR code using the NayaPay app. The rollout of this service marks a major milestone for Pakistan’s digital payments landscape by bridging local wallets with global acceptance networks.
NayaPay CEO Danish A. Lakhani described the global QR payment launch as a pivotal step toward equalising the payment freedom enjoyed in advanced markets with the needs of Pakistani consumers. He remarked:
When we started NayaPay, our ambition was to give Pakistanis the same freedom and confidence with money that people enjoy in the world’s most advanced markets. This step brings us closer, not only by making payments abroad seamless but by making them universally accessible and easy on the pocket. Whether our users are studying, working or exploring the world, they deserve a global payment experience that keeps up with them.
Pan Yan, Head of Strategic Partnership Office for Alipay+, Ant International, said:
Our goal at Alipay+ is to connect anyone, anywhere in a seamless, digitally-enabled manner. The growth of mobile platforms like NayaPay is transforming how millions of people travel and interact with local merchants. Through this next step of our collaboration, we’re jointly making it easier for Pakistanis to explore the world, and do so with the same trusted and familiar experience, just like home.
The expanded integration builds on an existing partnership that began in 2024 when NayaPay became the first Pakistani fintech to enable direct QR payments at millions of merchants in China via Alipay+. The wider global rollout now opens opportunities for users to interact with a far broader set of international markets, reinforcing NayaPay’s push to make cross-border digital payments easier for Pakistanis.
In addition to global QR payments, NayaPay’s product suite includes Visa debit cards, local and international money transfers, bill payments, remittances and business payment solutions, positioning the company as a key player in the nation’s push toward financial inclusion and digital commerce.
QR payments have become more and more popular in recent times because they eliminate the complexity of currency exchange and offer a contactless, convenient payment method.
The launch is expected to enhance the travel experience for Pakistanis visiting major destinations in Europe, Asia and beyond, while supporting the broader digital economy by encouraging cashless cross-border commerce and reducing reliance on traditional payment channels.
