NBP and Commercial Banks Extend Hours on November 29 for Tax Collections
The government has directed commercial banks to remain open this Saturday, November 29, 2025, to facilitate over-the-counter payment of duties and taxes. All Saturday-opening branches, including NBP branches handling customs collections, will operate from 9:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M.
Designated NBP branches collecting government receipts manually are required to settle transactions with their respective SBP-BSC field offices or head office on the same day. This will follow the completion of the same-day clearing process.
To ensure same-day settlement, all instruments related to government receipts and payments presented at bank counters on November 29 will be collected through NIFT Special Clearing at 5:30 P.M. NIFT will provide the clearing date of these instruments by 11:30 P.M. the same day.
The move aims to streamline revenue collection and provide taxpayers with a convenient option for timely payments.
