The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) has arrested two alleged members of the ‘Oad Gang’ on charges of defrauding citizens through fake prize schemes and parcel delivery scams on social media.
The suspects, Ali Raza and Muhammad Aslam, both residents of Khanewal, were apprehended during a raid in Chak No 157/10-R, Jahanian tehsil, Khanewal district, conducted by the Multan team of the agency under Assistant Director Adnan.
According to the NCCIA, the suspects lured victims by falsely claiming they had won cash prizes, donations or expensive gifts.
They allegedly impersonated customs officials and courier representatives to convince victims to transfer money for fabricated fees including customs duties and clearance charges before receiving the purported prizes or parcels.
An FIR (No.105/26), dated June 24, 2026, has been registered against the suspects under the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA) 2016, as amended in 2025, and the Pakistan Penal Code. Two mobile phones recovered during the raid have been taken into custody for forensic analysis.
NCCIA Punjab Director M Ali Waseem, under whose directives the operation was conducted, called the arrests a significant breakthrough in the crackdown launched by the agency against cybercrime, and reaffirmed its commitment to pursuing all those involved in online fraud.
