New EV Charging Station Installed at Key Location in Lahore

The Punjab government has installed electric vehicle (EV) charging station near the Department of Archives in the Civil Secretariat, Lahore, aiming to support government-owned electric cars and promote eco-friendly transportation.

Officials highlighted that the initiative is part of efforts to reduce environmental pollution and encourage the adoption of electric vehicles in government operations. Alongside the chargers, a new parking facility is planned behind the Home Department building to ease congestion and improve accessibility for employees and visitors.

A spokesperson stated,

“The installation of EV charging stations and improved parking facilities reflects our commitment to sustainable transport and modern infrastructure in Lahore.”

Earlier this year, the Lahore Transport Company (LTC) launched a plan to set up 241 EV charging points across the city, targeting both commercial and private electric vehicle users to expand the city’s green mobility network.
