WhatsApp is rolling out a new “star-mark” feature for Channel updates in its iOS app, allowing users to highlight important updates for easy access. This feature allows users to highlight and store important updates individually, making sure they remain visible amidst the flow of other messages.
This update, which was previously available for Android, now brings the same level of convenience to iPhone users, making it easier for them to manage and access important Channel updates with ease.
Users can apply the “Star-mark” feature to both individual messages and group conversations. WhatsApp intends to bring this functionality over to Channels at this moment. This functionality enables users to mark updates for fast retrieval later without a need to scroll down through the full Channel feed.
How to Use “Star-Mark” Feature on WhatsApp?
- Click and hold an update in the Channel.
- A pop-up window will show up with various options available.
- Select the Star option.
- To view the highlighted updates, head over to the Channel Info page and select the “Starred” option.
Users can manage, view, and even unstar these updates at their convenience. However, it is important to note that if you decide to unfollow a Channel with starred updates, all the marked articles will be deleted, and you will lose access to them permanently.
WhatsApp is introducing this feature to a select group of beta testers through the TestFlight Beta Program. It is anticipated that this feature will be available to all users soon.
