The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority has imposed a fine of Rs11 million on a petrol pump owner in Muzaffargarh after uncovering large-scale fuel adulteration and illegal storage during a major raid.
According to officials, the action was taken against Rana Filling Station following a media report that exposed unlawful oil storage practices at the site. Authorities moved swiftly to investigate the allegations and carried out a raid on the premises.
During the operation, more than 135,000 liters of petrol and diesel were discovered stored without a valid license. Laboratory testing later confirmed that both fuels had been mixed with harmful chemical adulterants, posing serious risks to vehicle engines and public safety.
Investigators revealed that the adulterated fuel was being distributed to multiple areas, raising concerns about the scale of the operation and its potential impact on consumers.
As part of the enforcement action, OGRA has cancelled the station’s No Objection Certificate (NOC) and ordered the seizure of machinery, storage tanks, and other equipment used in the illegal activity.
The district administration has also been instructed to take control of all petroleum products found on-site to prevent further distribution.
OGRA further announced that action will be taken against the private oil company linked to the filling station, reiterating its zero-tolerance policy against fuel adulteration and illegal practices in Pakistan’s petroleum sector.
