OnePlus 15T May Skip Major Camera Upgrades, Leak Suggests

Published by

OnePlus appears ready to refresh its T-series lineup once again. The OnePlus 15T is expected to follow the 13T, which debuted last April. However, a fresh leak from China suggests that fans should not expect major camera upgrades this year.

According to the leak, the OnePlus 15T will carry the same rear camera hardware as its predecessor. It will reportedly feature a 50MP main camera built around Sony’s 1/1.56-inch Lytia 700 sensor with OIS. Alongside it, the device is said to include a 50MP telephoto camera using Samsung’s 1/2.76-inch ISOCELL JN5 sensor.

If this information proves accurate, only one small change is coming. The telephoto lens aperture may shift from f/2.0 on the 13T to f/2.8 on the 15T. Meanwhile, the main camera will keep its f/1.8 aperture. In simple terms, most of the camera hardware will remain untouched.

That decision could disappoint users who hoped for a stronger photography push. At the same time, OnePlus may be focusing its upgrades elsewhere.

Earlier rumors claim the OnePlus 15T will run on the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 SoC. If true, that would mark a notable performance boost. The phone is also rumored to pack the largest battery ever placed inside a smartphone of its size. That detail alone could become a key selling point.

On the front, the device will reportedly feature a 6.32-inch AMOLED display with “1.5K” resolution. This screen size keeps the phone in the compact flagship category. In addition, a 16MP selfie camera is expected to handle front-facing shots.

For now, these details remain based on leaks and early reports. Still, the overall picture suggests an iterative update rather than a dramatic overhaul. If OnePlus delivers strong battery life and top-tier performance, the 15T could still attract buyers, even without major camera changes.
