OnePlus is getting ready to refresh its compact flagship line in China. The company is expected to introduce the OnePlus 15T later this month as the successor to the OnePlus 13T. While it has not shared an exact launch date, OnePlus has already started teasing key features. The latest hint focuses on the phone’s rear camera system.
Li Jie, president of OnePlus China, revealed new details on Weibo. He confirmed that the OnePlus 15T will feature an upgraded LUMA periscope lens. According to the report, this new hardware will improve portrait shots and deliver better zoom performance. That suggests OnePlus is putting strong focus on camera quality this year.
The camera hardware also looks solid on paper. A recent leak claims the phone will include a 50MP Sony Lytia 700 sensor. In addition, it may carry a 50MP periscope telephoto camera powered by the Samsung ISOCELL JN5 sensor. If accurate, this setup could place the OnePlus 15T among serious camera-focused phones in its size category.
Beyond the camera, OnePlus appears to be improving endurance and performance. The company says the phone will pack a larger battery. It will also feature an upgraded cooling system. These changes should help users during long gaming sessions or heavy multitasking.
Despite these upgrades, OnePlus is not compromising on design. The OnePlus 15T is expected to keep a slim and lightweight body. The rear camera module will reportedly have minimal lens protrusion. That could make the device more comfortable to hold and use daily.
The OnePlus 15T is rumored to run on the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 SoC. This chipset should offer flagship-level speed and efficiency. On the front, the device may feature a 6.32-inch AMOLED display with 1.5K resolution. That screen size suggests OnePlus wants to keep the phone compact without sacrificing visual quality.
For now, OnePlus has shared only limited official details. All eyes are now on the official launch in China later this month.
