As many as 41,000 students appeared in the combined entrance test for admission in engineering universities held by the University of Engineering and Technology (UET) this Sunday.
The test was being conducted at 13 centers across Punjab. An official statement released by the University showed that of the total candidates, 12,723 appeared for the exam at the UET Lahore Main campus. The UET Kala Shah Kaku campus hosted about 2,834 of the candidates while 2,735 appeared for the test in Taxila. Among other cities of the province, there was a total of 6,000 appearances from Multan, 4,228 from Faisalabad, 1,763 from Bahawalpur, 1,642 from Sahiwal and 660 from Mianwali. About 1,055 candidates appeared for the test in Rahim Yar Khan and 2,266 in Gujrat. There was a total of 5,019 students which appeared for the test from the federal capital, Islamabad.

Ample arrangements were being made for the peaceful conduct of the test. There were special seating arrangements for students’ relatives outside the centers. Fool-proof security was maintained. Surveillance was being carried out using walk-through gates and CCTV cameras. Mobile signal jammers were also used at some key test places.
UET Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Fazal Ahmad Khalid visited different test centers and personally checked the arrangements. He expressed his satisfaction over the arrangements. While talking to the press, he said that every possible step has already been taken to ensure transparency and merit in the conduct of the test.
The test key has already been released by the University and is available here. The test result, however, will be announced on 24th of July.
