Over 98% of Lahore Motorcyclists Now Wear Helmets, AI Data Shows

Published by

Lahore’s City Traffic Police have reported a 98.68% helmet compliance rate among motorcyclists, based on AI-driven monitoring of 26 million motorcycle movements over the past 15 days. The data highlights increasing public awareness about road safety and adherence to traffic laws.

Officials noted that AI monitoring also tracked 6.2 million movements for one-way violations, finding only 1,466 incidents  roughly 0.023% of total movements.

Despite the low violation rate, authorities are taking strict measures, including vehicle impoundments for offenders, emphasizing that one-way driving is a serious public safety risk.

The department urged motorcyclists to:

  • Always wear helmets
  • Avoid one-way violations
  • Refrain from reckless riding

Authorities stressed that continued compliance and caution are crucial for safer roads and to prevent inconvenience for other commuters.

With AI monitoring confirming high helmet usage and low violations, Lahore is setting an example in road safety, though authorities continue enforcement to maintain discipline on city streets.
