#Ministry_of_Defense announces the arrival of a military force from the Islamic Republic of Pakistan at King Abdulaziz Air Base in the Eastern Sector, under the Joint Strategic Defense Agreement signed between the two brotherly countries.
The Pakistani force consists of fighter and support aircraft belonging to the Pakistani Air Force, with the aim of enhancing joint military coordination, raising the level of operational readiness between the armed forces of the two countries, and supporting security and stability at both regional and international levels.
Consequently, this move aims to enhance joint military coordination. It will raise the operational readiness of both armed forces. Furthermore, it supports both regional and international stability.
This deployment of PAF jets and other military forces actively executes the “Strategic Mutual Defence Agreement”. Pakistan and Saudi Arabia signed this landmark pact in September 2025. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif finalized the deal during his Riyadh visit, hosted by Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
Importantly, the agreement treats any aggression against one country as a direct attack on both. Therefore, this deployment significantly deepens a decades-old security partnership. Historically, Pakistan consistently provides military training and advisory deployments to the kingdom.
Conversely, Saudi Arabia frequently supports Pakistan during economic hardships. Just a day before the deployment announcement, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met with Saudi Finance Minister Mohammed bin Abdullah Al-Jadaan on Friday. Riyadh assured Islamabad of full financial support during this meeting. This backing helps Pakistan navigate economic challenges stemming from the broader Middle East conflict.
Additionally, Saudi officials reiterated their strict trust in Pakistan’s diplomatic capabilities. They highlighted Islamabad’s critical role in mediating talks between the United States and Iran. Previously, Riyadh backed Pakistan with a massive $6 billion support package in 2018, encompassing a $3 billion central bank deposit and $3 billion in deferred oil payments.
