Technical Specifications & Stealth Capabilities
The Taimoor ALCM is a high-tech conventional weapon designed for modern warfare. It brings specific tactical advantages to the battlefield:
- Extended Range: The missile can precisely engage targets up to 600 kilometres away.
- Versatility: It is capable of striking both land and sea targets.
- Stealth Profile: The system utilises a state-of-the-art navigation and guidance system. Furthermore, it is designed to fly at very low altitudes (terrain hugging). This flight profile allows the Taimoor to effectively evade hostile air and missile defence systems.
These features significantly enhance the operational flexibility of the PAF. Moreover, the precision-strike capability strengthens the country’s conventional deterrence posture.
Leadership Hails Technological Milestone by PAF
Senior officers of the Pakistan Armed Forces witnessed the launch alongside the scientists and engineers who developed the system. Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, Chief of the Air Staff, congratulated the team. He termed the success a testament to the nation’s resolve for technological self-sufficiency.
Civilian and military leadership also paid tribute to the achievement. President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif extended their felicitations to the PAF.
Notably, the Prime Minister paid specific tribute to the military leadership for this advancement, including Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, the Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces.
The Prime Minister remarked that the Taimoor Weapon System fortifies the nation’s defence. He added that the trial reflects the PAF’s operational readiness and technical superiority in an evolving regional security environment.
