Pak Suzuki Announces Permanent Suspension of Wagon R Bookings

Pak Suzuki Motor Company has officially announced the permanent suspension of bookings for all variants of its Wagon R hatchback, effective March 11, 2025. The company had previously ceased bookings for the top variant in recent months, leading to speculation regarding a complete halt in reservations.
In an official notification, Pak Suzuki confirmed that the suspension applies to all variants and instructed sales teams to inform potential customers accordingly.
Three variants of The Wagon R were introduced in Pakistan in 2014. The VX variant was initially priced at Rs 899,000, the VXR at Rs 1,049,000, and the VXL at Rs 1,089,000 respectively.
The main variant was subsequently discontinued, and the AGS variant was introduced in 2020 at a price of Rs 1,890,000. This variant features an automated gear shift transmission and an airbag. Prices have experienced substantial growth over the years, with the most recent prices being Rs 3,214,000 for the VXR variant, Rs 3,412,000for the VXL, and Rs 3,741,000for the AGS model.
In recent years, the Wagon R has experienced a decrease in sales. The company sold 1,608 units between July 2024 and February 2025, a decrease from 2,285 units during the same period last year. Conversely, Suzuki Swift reported sales of 5,295 units, Suzuki Cultus 1,887 units, and Suzuki Alto 28,194 units during the same period.
Pak Suzuki has not disclosed an official reason for the suspension; however, industry analysts speculate that declining sales in recent years may have played a role in the decision. The company has also not provided any confirmation regarding the potential launch of a new model in Pakistan.
