Pakistan and New Zealand have become the first pair of teams to face each other in 50 T20I matches, setting a record for the most encounters between any two sides in history.

Their Super Eight opener in the ongoing T20 World Cup 2026 today also marked their 50th T20I clash, highlighting the intensity and enduring rivalry between the two teams in the shortest format.

England and West Indies rank second with 39 T20I encounters, while India and Australia have played 37 matches, and India and South Africa have met 35 times in the format.

The Men in Blue is the only team to have played 30 T20I matches against five different countries, while the Green Shirts have achieved the same milestone against three different teams.

England has played 30 matches against three teams, Australia and West Indies have done so against two teams each, and Sri Lanka has played 30 matches against a single team.
