Pakistan-Indonesia Trade Hits $4.2 Billion with New Opportunities Ahead

Bilateral trade between Pakistan and Indonesia has shown steady growth, reaching $4.2 billion in 2024, with strong momentum continuing in 2025. Between January and September this year, trade totaled $2.92 billion, up from $2.69 billion during the same period last year, signaling rising economic engagement between the two nations.

Indonesia’s Consul General, Mudzakir MA, highlighted that while trade is growing, the bilateral trade basket remains limited. He pointed to untapped potential in textiles, the Halal industry, agriculture, pharmaceuticals, consumer goods, and technology sectors. The envoy emphasized exploring these areas to diversify and strengthen economic ties.

In a push to boost engagement, an Indonesian business delegation will participate in the International Consumer Product Fair (ICPF) at Karachi Expo Centre from December 11 to 14.

“Companies will showcase a range of industries, highlighting Indonesia’s export potential,” Mudzakir said, urging Pakistani businesses to attend B2B meetings with the visiting firms.

This initiative aims to foster collaborations and expand trade opportunities in previously underexplored sectors.
