Pakistan’s total cellular subscriber base reached 204.771 million by the end of February 2026, up from 202.575 million in January, according to data released by the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority. The increase reflects steady growth in mobile connectivity across the country.
Teledensity, which measures the number of mobile connections per 100 people, rose from 81% in January to 82% in February. Overall teledensity, which includes all telecom services, also increased from 82% to 82.75% during the same period, indicating broader expansion in communication access.
Mobile broadband usage continued to grow at a consistent pace. The number of 3G and 4G users increased from 153.325 million in January to 155.930 million in February. This marks a net addition of more than 2.6 million users within a single month. The penetration rate for next generation mobile services also improved, rising from 61.32% to 62.3%.
Operator level data shows that growth is driven primarily by 4G adoption. Jazz reported an increase in its 4G subscriber base from 55.979 million to 56.713 million, while its 3G user base remained at zero, reflecting a full transition away from older technology.
Zong also recorded gains in 4G users, increasing from 43.0658 million to 43.667 million. Its 3G user base declined slightly from 1.622 million to 1.621 million, continuing the gradual phase out of 3G services.
Telenor Pakistan posted growth across both segments. Its 3G users increased from 0.622 million to 0.632 million, while 4G subscribers rose from 28.75 million to 29.599 million. Ufone also reported increases, with 3G users rising from 1.058 million to 1.112 million and 4G users growing from 20.252 million to 20.588 million.
The data shows a clear shift toward faster mobile data services as users migrate from 3G to 4G networks. This transition aligns with rising demand for digital services such as video streaming, online payments, and remote work, which continue to drive growth in Pakistan’s telecom sector.
