Pakistan Navy Successfully Tests Indigenous Ship-Launched Ballistic Missile

The Pakistan Navy has achieved a significant technological breakthrough. On Tuesday, November 25, the Navy successfully conducted a flight test of an indigenously developed ship-launched anti-ship ballistic missile.

The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) confirmed the test earlier today. This latest development highlights Pakistan’s growing capabilities in defence technology.

This new weapon system brings advanced versatility to the Pakistan Navy arsenal. According to the ISPR, the missile is capable of engaging targets both at sea and on land. Furthermore, it strikes with “high precision”.

The system features state-of-the-art guidance technology. Additionally, it boasts advanced manoeuvrability features, ensuring it can effectively navigate to its target. The ISPR described the successful launch as a testimony to Pakistan’s technological prowess.

Admiral Naveed Ashraf, Chief of the Naval Staff, witnessed the flight test firsthand. He was joined by senior scientists and engineers who played a pivotal role in the system’s development.

Following the success, the country’s top leadership extended their congratulations to the participating units and scientists. This included:

  • President: Asif Ali Zardari
  • Prime Minister: Shehbaz Sharif
  • Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee: General Shamshad Mirza
  • Chief of Army Staff: Field Marshal Asim Munir

The Service Chiefs also conveyed their appreciation for this milestone achievement.

This test follows another recent advancement in Pakistan’s defence sector. On September 30, 2025, the Pakistan Army successfully conducted a training launch of the Fatah-4 cruise missile.

That indigenously produced system has a range of 750 kilometres. It features terrain-hugging avionics to evade enemy missile defence systems.

These consecutive developments underscore the Pakistan Navy’s unwavering commitment to safeguarding national interests through indigenous innovation.
