Pakistan Post has gone digital with a new delivery management app, aiming to improve mail services, reduce losses, and modernize operations nationwide.
The postal service has faced financial challenges and operational inefficiencies in recent years. As e-commerce grows in Pakistan, digital transformation has become crucial for timely delivery, service quality, and long-term sustainability.
Director General Samiullah Khan confirmed that all post offices have been equipped with devices for the official delivery app, funded through the Universal Postal Union (UPU). Postmaster generals across the country are required to activate the app and submit compliance reports by November 14.
Officials noted that digitalisation is central to Pakistan Post’s survival and potential revival, especially with a government-mandated deadline of December 31 to cut financial losses. Modern computerised systems will be installed in major post offices to handle growing e-commerce demands efficiently.
The initiative also aims to enhance service quality by enabling faster mail transmission, timely delivery, and new revenue-generating public service offerings.
A senior official stated,
“Digitalisation will transform Pakistan Post into a modern, efficient, and financially sustainable institution.”
The digital shift aligns with global postal trends and is expected to attract more customers to postal services while supporting Pakistan’s e-commerce ecosystem.
