Pakistan Railways has announced the operation of four special trains ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr to facilitate passengers traveling to celebrate the festival with their families across the country.
According to officials, the first Eid special train will depart from Lahore to Karachi on March 16. The second train will operate from Quetta to Rawalpindi on March 17. On the same day, another special train will leave Karachi for Peshawarto accommodate passengers traveling to the northern regions.
The fourth special train is scheduled to run from Karachi to Lahore on March 18, providing additional travel options for commuters during the busy holiday period.
Officials said the decision to run the special trains was taken on the instructions of the Federal Minister for Railways, highlighting the importance of ensuring passenger convenience and accessibility during the festive season. “These special trains will help manage the increased rush of passengers during Eid and provide more travel facilities,” a railway spokesperson said.
Every year, thousands of people travel across the country ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr to celebrate with family members. The introduction of special trains is part of the government’s efforts to ease travel pressure and ensure smoother transportation during the holidays.
