Pakistan To Close Shared Airspace With India For Two Days

Pakistan will close its airspace for three hours each day over two consecutive days, as outlined in a notification from the Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (CAA).

The CAA has released a Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) to inform all airlines and aviation companies about the temporary airspace restriction. The closure will be in effect on October 28 and 29, from 6 AM to 9 AM each day.

During this period, airlines have been instructed to exercise caution, as airspace in certain regions will remain unavailable for operations.

The NOTAM mentions that selected routes within the Karachi and Lahore flight regions will be closed. This closure is for commercial air traffic during the restricted hours.

Sources suggest the move of Pakistan to close shared airspace with India comes in light of Indian military exercises. These exercises are taking place near Pakistan’s border, prompting the temporary closure as a precautionary measure.

No additional details have been shared by the authorities so far.
