The Ministry of Information Technology & Telecommunication (MoITT) just announced a major national technology exhibition. Specifically, Ignite – National Technology Fund will host the Indus RAS (Robotics and Autonomous Systems) Expo 2026. This two-day event will kick off next week, on July 22 and 23, at the Pak-China Friendship Centre in Islamabad.
Ultimately, the expo will bring together policymakers, defense organizations, industry leaders, startups, investors, and academia. They aim to strengthen Pakistan’s robotics ecosystem and accelerate the adoption of autonomous technologies across strategic sectors.
What to Expect at Indus RAS Expo 2026
Currently, robotics and autonomous systems are rapidly reshaping economies worldwide. They actively drive transformation across manufacturing, defense, agriculture, healthcare, logistics, transportation, and public services. Therefore, the Indus RAS Expo 2026 aims to position Pakistan at the forefront of this technological shift.
Throughout the event, leading universities, research institutions, tech companies, and startups will present live technology demonstrations. Visitors will see locally developed products and advanced applied research. Furthermore, these innovations will cover defense robotics, drone technologies, industrial automation, and maritime autonomous systems. Additionally, the exhibition will highlight agritech, Physical AI, human-machine collaboration, and AI-powered decision support systems.
Exciting Competitions & Immersive Experiences
Besides the regular exhibits, the event promises several flagship attractions. For instance, students and engineers will compete head-to-head in the RAS Innovation Challenge and the RoboWars Competition. During these contests, participants will demonstrate original drone and robotics solutions to a distinguished panel of industry experts.
Moreover, attendees can explore the Immersive Experience Dome. This unique attraction combines interactive storytelling with 360-degree digital experiences. Organizers designed it specifically to inspire the next generation of innovators. The two-day event will also feature high-level plenary sessions.
Empowering Local Talent & Industry
Government officials hold high expectations for this initiative. According to the Federal Minister for IT & Telecom, Ms. Shaza Fatima Khawaja, robotics serves as a fundamental driver of economic competitiveness, industrial modernization, and national resilience. She stated that the expo reflects the commitment of the Government and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to invest in innovation. Consequently, this initiative empowers local talent and creates opportunities for Pakistani entrepreneurs to compete globally.
Similarly, Ignite CEO Mr. Muhammad Bilal Abbasi shared his vision for the event. He believes that innovation flourishes when academia, industry, and the government work together with a shared purpose. Therefore, the expo provides innovators with a national platform to accelerate the commercialization of indigenous technologies.
Interestingly, the Indus RAS Expo 2026 serves as a flagship event under the broader Indus AI initiative, which took place earlier this year in February. Ignite organized the upcoming exhibition in collaboration with the National Centre of Robotics & Automation (NCRA) and the NUST College of Electrical & Mechanical Engineering (E&ME).
Finally, the event is open to visitors on both days. Interested participants can easily register and find more information through the official website https://indusrasexpo.gov.pk/.
