Pakistani Airspace Remains Closed for Indian Aircrafts

Published by

Pakistan has announced that its airspace will continue to remain closed to Indian registered aircraft. The Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA) confirmed that the ban, in effect since April 23, 2025, has now been extended until 5 am on February 24, 2026, after which Pakistani airspace will remain restricted for Indian owned, operated, or leased aircraft, including military flights.

The closure comes amid ongoing tensions between Pakistan and India, affecting both commercial and military aviation routes. Since the initial ban in April 2025, Indian airlines have had to reroute flights, resulting in longer travel times and increased operational costs. The decision reflects Pakistan’s continued stance on airspace restrictions in response to bilateral security concerns.

A spokesperson for the PAA stated, “The ban applies to all Indian-registered aircraft, whether commercial, private, or military. Pakistani airspace will not be available for Indian operations under any circumstances.” Experts believe that this closure could impact regional aviation dynamics and may influence flight patterns across South Asia.
