A alleged new wave of Pakistani cyber attacks on Indian websites has reportedly targeted military-linked domains, including school portals and veteran welfare sites. Indian cybersecurity agencies claimed to have detected these alleged breaches amid escalating digital tensions between the two neighbors after the Pahalgam attack.
Sources indicate that hacker groups allegedly operating from Pakistan, such as ‘Cyber Group HOAX1337’ and ‘National Cyber Crew,’ are responsible for the latest cyber offensives. Websites of the Army Public School Nagrota and Army Public School Sunjuwan were reportedly defaced with provocative messages referencing the recent Pahalgam incident.
Other compromised sites include portals supporting Indian Air Force veterans’ welfare and healthcare services for ex-servicemen.
Analysts warn that the alleged Pakistani cyber attacks on Indian websites are part of an escalating digital conflict between India and Pakistan, fueled by recent violent incidents like the Pahalgam attack. Several similar breaches have already been reported in recent months, highlighting a worrying trend of cyberspace being used as a tool for psychological and political pressure.
Experts caution that such cyber confrontations could further destabilize relations if left unchecked.
Amid these escalating tensions, Pakistan’s National Cyber Emergency Response Team (NCERT) has issued multiple advisories to users. NCERT has warned Pakistani citizens to remain vigilant in cyberspace, urging them to strengthen security protocols and be cautious while operating online platforms.
The advisory reflects growing concerns about potential retaliatory attacks and emphasizes the need for increased cybersecurity awareness across all sectors.
