Pakistani Rupee Marks 42nd Consecutive Gain Against US Dollar

The Pakistani rupee (PKR) continued its impressive rally against the US dollar (USD), closing in green for the 42nd consecutive day on Friday, reflecting a rare period of currency stability in Pakistan’s financial markets. On a fiscal year-to-date basis, the rupee has gained 1.15 percent against the dollar, signaling improved investor sentiment and stronger foreign exchange flows.

The rupee appreciated slightly by 0.005 percent against the USD, closing at 280.6094. While it remained stable against the UAE Dirham (AED) and Saudi Riyal (SAR), it gained two paisas against the Canadian Dollar (CAD) but lost 59 paisas against the Australian Dollar (AUD). It also gained 40 paisas against the Euro (EUR) but slipped 64 paisas against the British Pound (GBP), highlighting mixed movements against other major currencies.

According to currency market analysts, PKR’s consistent gains are supported by remittance inflows, improved exports, and cautious forex management by the State Bank of Pakistan. Traders noted that while the USD trend remains bullish globally, the PKR’s resilience demonstrates local economic adjustments and market confidence.
