Pakistani Students Unveil Ai Driven Defense Robot Featuring Advanced Laser Technology

Karachi: A group of university students in Pakistan has developed an AI-driven defense robot vehicle equipped with a high-powered laser gun, designed to enhance the country’s military capabilities. The robot can swiftly eliminate targets within seconds, offering a cost-efficient and safer alternative to traditional defense methods.

The AI-powered robo-vehicle, still in its prototype stage, aims to reduce casualties among security personnel by providing a safer and more efficient alternative to conventional combat techniques.

A team of students from Mehran University of Engineering and Technology (MUET), Khairpur Campus, has developed a prototype that can accurately identify and track both moving and stationary objects, regardless of whether they are on the ground or in the air.

Its capability to differentiate between friendly and enemy forces, along with its precise targeting of both moving and stationary targets—on land and in the air—demonstrates remarkable accuracy and effectiveness.

The project made its debut at the 4th Research and Technology Showcase held at the Karachi Expo Centre, capturing considerable attention and receiving accolades from the chief minister of Sindh.

If adopted, Pakistan could lead the way as the first Islamic nation and the fifth in the world to embrace this innovative technology, aligning itself with pioneers like the US , UK and South Korea.

Utilizing a hybrid electric system, the laser weapon obviates the necessity for conventional ammunition, discharging projectiles at the speed of light. Equipped with infrared sensors and sophisticated cameras, its existing operational range of six feet could be expanded to accommodate a wider array of applications, including missile interception.
