Pakistan’s Airports

The Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA) is bringing a digital upgrade to airports across the country by introducing Automated Teller Machines (ATMs) for passengers. The initiative aims to make cash access and banking services easier for both domestic and international travelers.

To move this plan forward, the PAA has invited several banks to set up ATMs at key airports, including those in Islamabad, Karachi, and Lahore. These installations will allow passengers to withdraw cash, check balances, and access other banking services without leaving the terminals.

The authority is also extending the initiative to airports in Peshawar, Quetta, Sukkur, Gwadar, Skardu, and Gilgit. This expansion reflects a broader effort to modernize airport facilities beyond major cities and improve the overall travel experience.

In addition to this project, the PAA has recently launched other digital upgrades, such as biometric e-gates at major airports. These steps align with Pakistan’s ongoing digital transformation strategy and its goal to enhance efficiency, convenience, and security for air travelers.
