In a world full of real tensions, Pakistan’s internet has once again done the unthinkable — turned two neighboring Punjab districts into warring superpowers, with missiles, jet fighters, fake ceasefires, and even IAEA inspectors. The Sahiwal vs Okara meme war erupted on June 4, 2026, and has since taken over X, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and Reddit with the kind of energy usually reserved for actual geopolitical crises.
The opening shot came from Instagram account @channel67okara, which posted a satirical breaking news video depicting fireworks as subsonic missiles launched toward Sahiwal. Rival account @channel67sahiwal hit back almost immediately with dramatic clips of jets, ballistic missiles, and military-style situation updates. What started as local trolling between two cities roughly 50 km apart quickly spiraled into a nationwide spectacle.
The war then went regional. Lahore threw its weight behind Sahiwal, triggering Karachi to join Okara’s side, dispatching 4,000 men of the elite Korangi Cavalry. Bahawalpur signed a mutual defence agreement with Okara. Muridke and Pattoki, both within Lahore’s divisional sphere, rebelled and pledged Okara their naval support, somehow blockading a landlocked city. Okara also established complete air supremacy, leaving Sahiwal relying on ground-based assets for strikes as far as Karachi, though reports suggest the strike package got stuck on University Road.
The content is impressively produced. Edited military operation videos, fake superpower endorsements with the US and China backing rival factions, collapsed peace talks, and ceasefire announcements that broke within hours kept the conflict fresh. The “Sahiwal Air Force” conducted bombing runs while the “Okara Defense Force” launched counterattacks.

On X, a satirical account called the Foreign Ministry of Sahiwal issued formal diplomatic condemnations. Another account, mimicking military communications, reported that Okara’s air defence systems were actively intercepting incoming Sahiwali missiles over the city’s skies. Thor, Batman, and Donald Trump were all drafted into the conflict as fictional mediators.
Other users quickly joined the fun:
JUST IN: Sahiwal has launched Ballistic Missiles towards Okara in retaliation of the Subsonic Missile attack earlier today.
I condemn these escalations and request both of the parties to avoid fighting. pic.twitter.com/41KzGPvWno

Sahiwal is only winning on Twitter. Okara is a reality and the Southern Coalition will get the victory. pic.twitter.com/Z5vK2nJxpV

I stopped 8 wars. The biggest one was between Sahiwal and Okara, they were about to nuke each other. Eleven beautiful jets were shot down. https://t.co/YzVYPSOiCi pic.twitter.com/l2nf932Wcz

Whatever may have started this new craze gripping the Gen-Z, one thing is for sure that Pakistanis have always had supreme humor. As one viral post put it: “The world is finally at peace and Pakistanis found a new way to entertain themselves.”
As of June 6, fresh missile strikes, celebrity endorsements, and savage city roasts continue rolling in. Peace talks are ongoing — or are they?
