The Sindh government has approved the expansion of its People’s Bus Service to three more districts, Khairpur, Shikarpur, and Naushahro Feroze, as part of its ongoing effort to improve public transport across the province.
The decision was made during a transport department meeting chaired by Sindh Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon, who reviewed the progress of several mass transit projects. According to the official statement, 20 new buses will be added under the expanded service to boost connectivity and provide affordable transport options in the newly included districts.
During the meeting, the minister also discussed the upcoming launch of double-decker and electric buses in Karachi. He confirmed that Sindh’s first electric taxi service is expected to begin operations in December, marking another step toward sustainable mobility.
Sharjeel Inam Memon reiterated the government’s commitment to strengthening the province’s transport network through modern, eco-friendly, and commuter-focused initiatives. He said these projects aim to meet the rising demand for safe, efficient, and accessible transportation across Sindh.
