KARACHI: PepsiCo Pakistan is taking a major step toward localization and self-reliance in the country’s food industry with the inauguration of a cutting-edge local flavor production facility. This initiative, developed in collaboration with global taste and nutrition leader Kerry and its strategic local associate, Far Eastern Impex (FEI), aligns with the highest international standards. The project aims to enhance local manufacturing capabilities, strengthen Pakistan’s food value chain, and drive economic growth.
By enabling this development, PepsiCo is fostering knowledge-sharing and capability-building across Pakistan’s food sector. The initiative is expected to create job opportunities in manufacturing, research and development, and supply chain operations. As Pakistan’s food industry continues to expand, driven by rising consumer demand and urbanization, localizing flavor production positions the country as a key player in the regional food supply chain, with potential for future flavor exports.

From developing high-yield potato variants at Pakistan’s largest private tissue culture lab to their cultivation, processing, and export, the company has built a 100% sustainable, locally integrated potato supply chain. This initiative underscores PepsiCo’s commitment to fostering economic and agricultural development in Pakistan.
Mohammad Khosa, CEO of PepsiCo Pakistan & Afghanistan, highlighted the broader economic impact of this initiative, stating that it is about more than just reducing imports. He described it as an investment in the future, aligned with PepsiCo’s vision to be #InWithForPakistan. He emphasized that localizing supply chains creates opportunities for the workforce, strengthens Pakistan’s economy, and supports long-term sustainability.
The new manufacturing facility at FEI is designed to meet international quality and safety standards, ensuring that Pakistan’s food industry benefits from the latest advancements in flavor formulation and processing. With this strategic step, PepsiCo Pakistan continues to invest in local talent, infrastructure, and innovation, reinforcing its role as a key driver of economic and industrial development.
