Gibson arrives with extensive international coaching credentials, having guided West Indies to the 2012 T20 World Cup title during his tenure as head coach between 2010 and 2014.
Beyond West Indies, he served two spells as the bowling coach for England, later worked with Bangladesh in 2020, and held South Africa’s head coach role from 2017 to 2019 period.
As a cricketer, Gibson represented West Indies in two Test matches and 15 ODIs, adding playing experience to his coaching résumé before transitioning fully into international coaching roles.
Before this announcement, Peshawar Zalmi retained four players ahead of the historic PSL 11 auction scheduled to take place on February tomorrow as part of early squad planning strategy process.
It is worth noting that last week, Zalmi retained Babar Azam in the Platinum category and Sufiyan Muqeem in the Diamond group as part of their early retention strategy.
Abdul Samad was kept in the Gold category, while 17 years old pacer Ali Raza was retained in the Emerging group ahead of the upcoming first ever auction.
